A hugely flavoursome 13 year old single malt here from GlenAllachie, which has been allowed a finishing period of nearly two years in Rioja wine casks. One of Spain’s most revered wine regions, and renowned for producing some incredible expressions, we reckon GlenAllachie made a great choice to use Rioja wine casks to finish this whisky in.

Region: Speyside

Nose: Honeyed barley, raspberry jam on toast, very subtly floral, with a hint of festive spice growing later on.

Palate: Rich orange and vibrant grapefruit, mellowed by walnut and peanut brittle notes.

Finish: A hint of liquorice peeks out from underneath toffee and sultana.
