Glenglassaugh Octaves Peated (Master Distiller – Billy Walker)


For the second Batch of Glenglassaugh Octaves Peated, the distillery has used octave casks made from resized bourbon, Port and Oloroso sherry casks. This has helped to impart a wine-like sweetness to the expression, which is quite a bit different to the more bourbon-cask-matured style of the initial release.


Nose: Fizzy oak and red grape, with a touch of chocolate. Hints of burnt wood develop in the background.

Palate: Smoke begins to come to the fore on the palate, though the sherried sweetness keeps in from becoming outrageous.

Finish: Red chilli chocolate and flamed orange peel.
