This indie bottling of single malt from the Dailuaine distillery was mature for 7 years in a rum barrel, from 2009 to 2017. Following that rather interesting maturation, it was bottled by Langside for the Hepburn’s Choice range. We reckon you don’t see enough whisky aged in rum casks, so we’re always happy to see a release like this. 138 bottles were produced.
Nose: Fizzy oak with a touch of camphor. Subtle sweetness of zesty lime.
Palate: Rounded vanilla and caramel, with a bit of old fashioned cola cube thrown in for good measure. Subtle touches of flinty minerals later on.
Finish: Cardamom and mince pie-filling.
