Kilchoman Distillery was founded in 2005 and is the first distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years. It is a farm distillery and a proportion of the barley used in prodution is grown and malted at the distillery.

Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland producting slight over 100,000 liters of alcohol per year.

Kilchoman spirit is filled into a combination of fresh bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace Distillery, Kentuck, USA and fresh oloroso sherry butts direct from Spain.

This Kilchoman’s Feis Ile 2012 bottling is produced from barley grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery. It has been matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 4 years and finished in an oloroso sherry butt for 4 weeks.

Colour: Light beech darkening nicley with age.

Nose: Soft peaty aromas with cooked fruits, citrus and lemon.

Palate: Cloves, butterscoth, soft cirtus, mouth-filling with a lasting finish.

Finish: Round soft fruits with a lingering peaty and smoky finish.
