Springbank 10 Year Old – Palo Cortado Cask Matured
This release is the second in a distinguished five-part sherry series from the distillery. Distilled in July 2013, it underwent a unique maturation process. Initially, it spent six years in refill bourbon barrels, followed by a further four years in freshly made Palo Cortado hogsheads crafted from American oak. In September 2023, this meticulously aged whisky was bottled, yielding a limited run of just 10,200 bottles.

Nose: Very nutty, some dried fruits, dates, figs, oak wood, little earthy, whiff of sherry, dark honey, spices, cloves, hint of cinnamon, dried apricot, dry hay – really not bad
Palate: Little punchy, oily, almost creamy, nutty, dark honey, subtle sweetness, spices, pepper, dried fruits, notes of oak wood but also sherry, more dried fruits, toffee, orange peel – pretty good.
Finish: Medium long, warm, spices, little woody, tobacco, dried fruits.
