PRODUCT INSPIRATION

At the heart of the Ardbeg Smokiverse lies the Distillery’s
mash tun. Responsible for converting our malted barley into fermentable sugars (mashing), all life at Ardbeg revolves around the tun. Now, we’re pushing its limits to explore new frontiers of flavour for Ardbeg. By experimenting with high gravity mashing, our whisky creators have used less water and packed in more grain than ever before, compressing every drop of liquid to amplify flavour-active acetate esters. This dense, unconventional mash has unlocked intense fruity and sweet notes from the depths of the tun.
