A single vintage release from Islay’s Kilchoman Distillery, featuring whisky distilled back in 2010. The casks chosen for this expression were 42 bourbon barrels and 3 sherry butts – continuing the theme set by the previous bottling in this series from Kilchoman. After 9 years of maturation, the smoky single malt was bottled at 48% ABV, with 15,000 bottles released.
Nose: Creamy and sweet with milky coffee, toasted crumpets with butter and lemon meringue pie.
Palate: Earthier notes of peat and dried oak appear on the palate, though still featuring plenty of vanilla. A few flashes of Christmas spice too.
Finish: Baked apple, cola cubes, spicy smoke and cherry.
