Auchentoshan 12 Year
This Auchentoshan 12 yrs expression replaced the old 10 year-old a few years ago in 2008, when the range was totally revamped, and has been hailed as a big improvement on the occasionally lacklustre 10yo.
A more recent release from the Auchentoshan distillery, replacing the previous staple 10 year old, this 12 year old bottling launched at the same time Auchentoshan had a dramatic rebrand back in 2011.
Region: Lowland
Aroma: Cereals, exotic fruits.
Flavours: Tannins, a little sweet barley, vanilla.
Character: Dry and very long, a little sweetness from the barley.
