Darkness 5 Year Old – Tennessee Rye PX Cask Finish
Sherried rye whiskey isn’t something you see every day, but that’s exactly what we’ve got here from the Darkness independent bottling range! This is a five year old rye from Tennessee, which has been given a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry octave casks, which makes for vastly increased surface area to volume ratio compared to your standard sized cask. The result is a whiskey with sherried notes standing up handsomely to those characteristic spicy rye elements.

Nose Lemon sherbet sweeties, chocolate, red chilli flake and a good crackle of peppery oak.
Palate Creamy vanilla, mint chocolate, slightly buttery at points, with baking spices and cedar building.
Finish Earthy caraway and peppercorn, with hints of Cadbury Fruit & Nut.
