Dunville’s Peated Three Crowns
A peaty expression from the Dunville’s range, which was relaunched in 2016 after falling off the map in the 1930s. This was made with a blend of single malt and single grain Irish whiskeys which was allowed a finishing period in peated cask to add its distinctive smokiness. Exciting stuff, as peaty Irish whiskeys are not a common sight – and that’s quite an understatement, frankly.
Region: Irish Whiskey
Nose: Toffee and roasted coffee bean. Orchard fruit notes develop with a drop of water.
Palate: Apricot, salted caramel, a touch of blackberry followed by basil leaf.
Finish: A sweet finish of butterscotch and honey.
