Glendalough is an independent distillery founded by five friends that has lead the craft revival in Ireland. Having made a splash with their poitín styles, this double-barrel whiskey is a step in a new direction. It’s made from a mash bill of malted barley and corn distilled in Coffey stills. It matured 3.5 years in ex-bourbon barrels with an added 6 months in ex-oloroso sherry casks. Note: The guy with his arms outstretched on the label is St. Kevin, known for radical independence.
Glendalough Double Barrel is a single grain Irish whiskey, aged in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Sweet and creamy, with butterscotch and honey from the American oak and dried fruit from the Spanish.

Sweet and creamy on the palate, with butterscotch, honey and peppercorn bringing along sweet Bourbon Cask notes with dried fruit returning through notes of maraschino cherries and a pinch of brown sugar.
Character:
Lingering notes of ginger spices with a faint glimmer of almond to end a complex Irish Whiskey from start to finish.
