Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1991 (bottled 2018) – Bond House No.1 Whisky

A particularly rich and fruit-forward single malt from Glenmorangie, released as part of its excellent Bond House No.1 series. For this very special expression, whiskies from two different types of casks were blended together – one finished in oloroso sherry casks, the other finished in Burgundy casks. There’s some full-aged virgin oak wood, and come classic bourbon-aged Glenmorangie thrown in for good measure, too. You might think that one could overpower the other, or that the combination of both of them could simply be too loud, but the result is brilliantly balanced.
