Kilchoman Distillery was founded in 2005 and is the first distillery to be built on Islay for 125 years. It is a farm distillery and a proportion of the barley used in prodution is grown and malted at the distillery.
Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland producting slight over 100,000 liters of alcohol per year.
This is a single cask bottling matured for over four year in an ex- bourbon barrel before finished in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask.
Nose: Fresh citrus and smoke at first, grapefruit and lemon-tart and raising sweetness in the back ground.
Palate: Poised and clean, with lemon drops, grapefruit peel and eucalyptus joined by mellow smoke. a soft richness underpins the fruit and smoke creating full thick mouth feel.
Finish: Is red fruit richness with peat and smoke.
