Tormore 21 Year Old – Batch 3 (That Boutique-Y Whisky Company)
It’s an independently bottled 21 year old Tormore single malt, boasting orchard fruit and vanilla notes by the bucket-load! This whisky was bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company and features a big ol’ hill on the label. Y’see, the name Tormore comes from the Gaelic for “the big hill” – Torra Mhòir. Hence, the hill.
Batch 3 is a release of 149 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Region: Speyside
Nose: Freshly cut grass, hay, apples, vanilla ice cream, milk chocolate, cashew nuts, slight cinnamon spice prickle, banana chips and nutmeg.
Palate: Lots more orchard fruits, but this time with an element of dried citrus peels. Grapefruit, toasted barley, coffee beans and a suggestion of bitter dark chocolate.
Finish: Medium and relatively complex, with the oakiness, sweet spices and orchard fruits – this time stewed – all coming through.
Overall: A springtime, sunshine dram!
