Writers Tears Red Head
A lovely fruity release from the Walsh distillery in south east Ireland, Writers Tears Red Head was named so because of its inviting shade of amber, we assume. The no age statement single malt has been matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, and is bottled without chill filtering at 46% ABV.
Region: Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey
Nose: Candied orange peel, chocolate covered marzipan, sherried dried fruit, and praline and tropical fruit.
Palate: An oily nuttiness, with fruity Christmas cake, tangy pineapple, liquorice and melted milk chocolate.
Finish: Rich walnut with oak and baking spice lingering.
